• Nylon membranes are hydrophilic and resistant to many solvents; generally used for filtration and clarification of aqueous or organic solutions.Membranes of PTFE
• PTFE membranes can be used to filter solvents and strong acids. Although PTFE is inherently hydrophobic, it can be made hydrophilic by pre-wetting the membrane with methanol and then using with aqueous solutions.Membranes of PVDF
